Jim Keras Group Reacquires Memphis Buick GMC Dealership
Kerrigan Advisors facilitated the sale of a prominent local car dealership, Sunrise Buick GMC Covington Pike (Tenn.), to a family-owned company, Jim Keras Automotive Group. The rooftop will be the seventh Keras-owned dealership in the Memphis area. This was the last Sunrise dealership still in existence after selling two other Buck GMC dealerships to Lithia Motors.
This was a unique deal, Kerrigan executives noted in a release, as Jim Keras Automotive Group had originally sold the Buick franchise to Sunrise back in 2006 when GM had a strategy to partner Buick and GMC together at their franchises.
“We’re taking over the physical dealership, the real estate, the assets, the brand, and everything,” Keras said. “Then, we’re changing the name to Jim Keras Buick GMC. The previous owner is a great, great guy with a great company and lots of great employees.”
