NY Dealer Sues Stellantis, Maserati Over Failed Sale

A lawsuit claims the transfer of dual Long Island, N.Y., Alfa Romeo and Maserati dealerships was unfairly blocked by their factories, detailed in a special report by Automotive News’s Eric Freedmen.

Gold Coast Alfa Romeo and Gold Coast Maserati also sued Stellantis in a separate action last year, leading owner Stuart Hayim to list retaliation among the “illegitimate, pretextual reasons” the factory blocked the sale.

“That earlier suit, which is still pending, alleges illegal wholesale price discounts, unfair and inequitable customer satisfaction indexes, unfair and discriminatory vehicle allocations and failure to reimburse the dealerships at their established retail rate for warranty work,” Freedmen reports.
