Asbury Automotive Group has sold the former Larry H. Miller Toyota of Lemon Grove, Calif., to Vaughan Automotive, according to The Presidio Group, which represented Asbury in the deal.

The newly renamed Maverick Toyota was Asbury’s last dealership in California. It was part of the group’s $3.2 billion, 61-store acquisition of Larry H. Miller Dealerships in 2021.

Houston-based Vaughan enters the Golden State for the first time with the purchase.

“Moving into California represents a significant milestone in our expansion strategy,” writes CEO Shawn Vaughan in a release. “We’ve come to know this market well and are excited to represent Toyota in another community.”
