Assurant has launched Vehicle Care Technology Plus, a new service contract that offers coverage for high-tech in-vehicle components as well as the customer’s smartphone, including commonly performed repairs to screens, charging ports, batteries and buttons.

“Today’s mobile devices are essential tools for vehicle owners, whether it’s remotely starting the vehicle, connecting to the infotainment system, or even calling emergency roadside assistance,” writes Jeff Strickland, EVP and president of Assurant Global Automotive, in a press release. “Assurant Vehicle Care Technology Plus bridges the gap between these two worlds, offering a seamless protection experience for vehicles plus the added mobile benefit that comes with Assurant Device Care.”

In-vehicle component coverage is focused on advanced technology such as safety system sensors, adaptive cruise control and infotainment screens, according to the release.
