Ford to Change Quality Leader as It Chases Lower Warranty Costs

Reuters reports Jim Baumbick, head of quality control for Ford Motor Co. since 2022, will move to the factory’s EV team. Ford will seek out a new quality leader who will likely be tasked with reducing recalls and warranty costs.
Ford is expected to officially announce Baumbick’s move and his successor’s appointment early next year. A spokesman told Reuters the move will allow Ford’s teams to “collaborate and work more efficiently to deal exciting vehicles and software with the highest levels of quality for our customers.”
