Coughlin Automotive has acquired Bob Chapman Ford of Marysville, Ohio, from fourth-generation owner Joe Chapman, adding the state’s oldest Ford dealership to its growing network. The Columbus-based group now includes 17 stores.

“After 112 years and four generations of family ownership, selling our Ford dealership was one of the most emotional and important decisions of my life. This wasn’t just a business, it was a legacy built on over a century of hard work, community relationships and family pride,” writes Chapman in a release from the Tim Lamb Group, which brokered the sale. “I’m thankful to both Tim Lamb and Coughlin Group — it was the right move at the right time — and thanks to them, it feels like a new chapter that still carries forward our legacy.”

The newly renamed Coughlin Ford of Marysville was founded in 1913 and would grow into a 28,000-square-foot, 6-acre complex. All employees of the dealership and its Ford Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center will be retained, according to the release.
