Supercar Dealer Could Face Fraud Charges in 2 States

The owner of a shuttered Albany, N.Y.-area supercar dealership and a Jacksonville, Fla., Karma franchise has been arrested in Florida, according to Jacksonville Today reporter Dan Scanlan.

Vladimir Anguelov Ranguelov turned himself in last week and has been charged with fraud and dealing in stolen property, according to the report, and Karma has suspended the franchise. Police investigated following a number of complaints from customers, including one who purchased a 2019 Corvette ZR1 for $235,000 only to be “unable to find it or Ranguelov” when he visited the Jacksonville dealership.

Ranguelov has been the target of an ongoing investigation by Colonie police and has been sued in New York for $3.5 million by a financing partner who says the dealer owes him $3.5 million.

“Ranguelov’s operation in Jacksonville, and its sister dealership — Bul Auto Sales in Colonie, N.Y. — are both shut down,” Scanlan writes, in part. “Police in the New York community near Albany also were investigating complaints against Bul, with multiple lawsuits filed against him.”
