Tesla Advances in 100 Most Popular Used Cars List

Tesla made waves in iSeeCars’ annual rankings of the best selling used vehicles built in the past five model years. The EV maker’s Model 3 moved up from No. 47 in 2023 to No. 30 last year, and the Model Y broke into the top 100 at No. 74.
But pickups and SUVs continued to lead the market in 2024. The Ford F-150 pickup accounted for 3% of the 7.7 million-plus transactions studied by iSeeCars analysts, followed by its closest competitors, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (2.4%) and Ram 1500 (2.1%).
The top five was rounded out by the Chevrolet Equinox SUV (1.8%) and the Toyota Camry (1.7%), one of only two cars (with the Honda Civic, at 1.5%) to appear in the top 10.
“While it’s not surprising to see trucks and SUVs dominating the list of popular used models, it is surprising to see an electric car, Tesla’s Model 3, make the top 30 ranking,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “That’s the first time an EV has made the top 30. More importantly, the Model 3 was ranked 47th last year, showing the rapid growth of its popularity.”
