Trump Selects FTC Commissioner Andrew Ferguson to Chair Agency

Andrew Ferguson has been tapped to promote from commissioner to be “the most America First, and pro-innovation” chair of the Federal Trade Commission by President-elect Donald Trump, according to a statement shared with Fox News and other outlets.

“Andrew has a proven record of standing up to Big Tech censorship, and protecting Freedom of Speech in our Great Country,” Trump said.

Ferguson is one of five FTC commissioners and two Republican commissioners. He was appointed by President Joe Biden, a Democrat, in April. If his promotion is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, he will unseat the current chair, Lina Khan, likely leading a Republican-majority commission once Ferguson’s seat is filled.
