AutoNation Holds No. 1 Ranking in AN Fixed Ops Top 100

AutoNation generated $4.8 billion in service and parts revenue in 2025, a 4.8% year-over-year increase, according to the latest rankings from the Automotive News Data Center.
AutoNation was trailed by Lithia Motors ($3.9 billion) and Penske Automotive Group ($3.4 billion) while No. 4 Group 1 Automotive showed the most improvement among the top five, up 14.2% to $2.5 billion.
Remarkably, AutoNation more than doubled Lithia’s and Penske’s dealership average, earning $17.8 million in parts and service revenue per store.
In her analysis, AN’s Gail Kachadourian Howe says a renewed focus on fixed ops has paid off nationwide.
“Service and parts sales for the top 100 retailers on Automotive News’ list totaled $46.8 billion, up 7.7 percent from last year. Eleven groups saw a decline in service and parts revenue in 2025. That compares with nine on last year’s list,” Kachadourian Howe writes. “Meanwhile, 13 groups posted an increase of at least 20 percent in 2025 compared with 15 groups in 2024.”
