Cars.com Claims Industry First With VIN-Specific AI Video Ads

Cars.com’s newly launched VIN-level, AI-generated video ads are the first to be powered by demand signals from in-market car buyers and appear to be driving results for early adopters, according to a release.
Executives say internal data shows significant increases in dealer website visitors (35%), influenced dealership foot traffic (45%) and influenced vehicle sales (47%) over the course of a 30-day campaign that began in March and produced nearly 10,000 unique ads.
“Cars.com is the only one in the industry combining real-time marketplace demand signals, premium media distribution and AI-generated VIN-level video — delivering a uniquely powerful, end-to-end advertising solution for our dealer customers,” writes Cars.com’s chief commercial officer, Lisa Gosselin. “Our goal is to partner with our customers to understand how we can help solve pain points through data and technology. Early feedback is clear: Our new AI VIN video solution is hitting the mark.”
In February, the company announced the impending launch of DealerCloud, a new, AI-based customer relationship management system developed in partnership with Salesforce and California’s Del Grande Dealer Group.
