Carvana Acquires First Franchised Dealership

Online used vehicle retailer and dealer disrupter Carvana has acquired Jerry Seiner Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram of Casa Grande, Ariz., less than an hour from Carvana’s Tempe headquarters, according to reports from Automotive News and other sources.

The soon-to-be-renamed Casa Grande CJDR is Carvana’s first new-car dealership. The news follows a strong Q4 report tempered by a subsequent dip in share value. The Salt Lake City-based Jerry Seiner group still owns its Casa Grande Chevrolet store.

“We’re always experimenting and this is a small test in a single market,” a Carvana spokesperson told AN’s C.J. Moore. “We are excited to join the Stellantis network and our focus in this test will be learning how to provide great customer experiences at a franchise dealership — we don’t expect it to have any noticeable impact to our results for the foreseeable future.”
