Carvana Enters California Market With Third Franchised Dealership Acquisition

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports Carvana has purchased San Diego Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram from Sunroad Automotive Group, making the Mission Valley, Calif., store the dealer disruptor’s third new-car dealership and its first in the nation’s No. 1 auto market.
The Union-Tribune’s Jennifer Van Grove broke the story and confirmed the news with Carvana.
“We look forward to bringing exceptional Carvana experiences to San Diego Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram customers,” a spokesperson tells Van Grove.
Carvana purchased its first franchised dealership, Jerry Seiner Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Casa Grande, Ariz. — near its Tempe headquarters — in February, followed by the acquisition of the Dallas-area Park Cities CJDR in September.
