Cox Automotive held its 2026 Top Tech Finals in Nashville last week, recognizing the best technicians from Cox Fleet and Manheim across three competition categories after a field of nearly 900 competitors was narrowed through five regional qualifiers.

The top category winners are (above, L–R) Dillon Grimes (winner, Trailer), Bud Haney (runner-up, Trailer), AJ Snyder (winner, Light/Medium Duty), Tyler Wright (runner-up, Light/Medium Duty), Jonathan Kelly (winner, Heavy Duty) and Jeff Nichols (runner-up, Heavy Duty). Grimes, Kelly and Snyder will compete at the American Trucking Association’s TMC SuperTech competition in Pittsburgh in September.

“The level of talent on display at this year’s Top Tech Finals was remarkable,” writes Patrick Brennan, Cox Fleet’s senior vice president, in a release. “Across every challenge, competitors demonstrated the skill, professionalism and commitment to excellence that help our customers keep their fleets moving every day.”

Finalists competed across 30 written and hands-on stations covering diagnostics, electrical systems, braking systems, ADAS, EV high-voltage systems and customer service, among other disciplines, according to the release.
