Less Than 1% of EV Buyers Go Back to Gas-Powered Cars

Electrek’s Peter Johnson digs into the results of a recent Global EV Alliance survey of 28,000 EV buyers worldwide that found 92% percent of respondents would buy another EV. Only 1% said they would buy a gas-powered vehicle; 4% said they would buy a plug-in hybrid.
“If you’ve driven an electric vehicle, then you know why,” Johson wrote. “The nearly silent, smooth ride is impossible with even the most advanced gas cars. Then, factor in almost no operating and maintenance costs, and you can see why EV drivers rarely go back.”
The most cited reasons for buying another EV included operating costs, climate- and local environment-friendliness and drivability.
