VantageScore 5.0 Launches With AI and All Three Credit Bureaus Aboard

Jul. 8, 2026 | |

VantageScore has launched VantageScore 5.0, a new tri-bureau credit scoring model trained on post-pandemic consumer data. Executives say the new model offers finance sources up to a 9% better predictive lift on auto loan originations compared with VantageScore 3.0.

VantageScore 5.0 is built on proprietary, patent-pending, AI-powered “GAIN” attributes designed to capture real-time credit behavior and historical trends, and is the only nationwide tri-bureau credit score trained on post-pandemic data, according to a release.

The new model also delivers superior score stability, says VantageScore EVP and Chief Data Scientist Dr. Andrada Pacheco, with 96% of scores remaining within a 40-point range across all three bureaus — a meaningful benefit for auto finance sources evaluating borderline applicants.

“The credit landscape has evolved rapidly,” Pacheco writes. “VantageScore 5.0 is at the forefront of a new generation of credit scoring models built on today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities, providing lenders and fintechs with more granular, data-driven borrower insights, enhanced predictive power and stronger risk segmentation.”

VantageScore 5.0 is available now from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
