Customer Satisfaction Hits Record Heights for New, EV Buyers

Cox Automotive analysts say pandemic-era investments in omnichannel sales and F&I solutions paid off for dealers in 2024, when economic headwinds failed to blunt a growing sense of satisfaction with the shopping and buying experience among U.S. car buyers.

“Auto dealers who embrace the latest technology and engage in a transparent, easy-to-navigate process have consistently delivered the highest levels of satisfaction,” writes Isabelle Helms, vice president of Research and Market Intelligence, in a release. “That was true 15 years ago and remains true as ever today.”

Cox’s 15th annual Car Buyer Journey Study finds 82% of new EV buyers and 75% of all new vehicle buyers and lessees were “highly satisfied” with their experience in 2024, both record highs. Only 67% of all buyers were “highly satisfied” with their experience in 2024, with only 64% of used vehicle buyers choosing that rating.
