Evolving Fleet Service Needs Create Advantage for Tech-Savvy Dealers

EVAI founder Ian Gardner says a new survey proves an opportunity exists for dealers willing to leverage data and technology to stay ahead of rapidly evolving fleet service trends.
Analysts found that, among the 2,500 dealers surveyed, 31% currently service business and commercial fleets but only 19% service electric fleet vehicles. Although EV adoption in the fleet sector has been slower than many experts predicted, connected vehicles and the datasets they produce are already out in force.
Writing for DealerELITE, Gardner says dealers who take advantage can level up their commercial operations, enhancing everything from scheduling service to calculating total cost of ownership for fleet managers who may be in the market for new units.
“For the commercial fleet segment, these innovations are not optional. Dealers must develop robust systems for capturing and leveraging connected vehicle data, improve communication with fleet managers, and offer seamless digital experiences that meet the expectations of modern business customers.”
