Ford, Honda Recalls Affect More Than 500,000 Units

The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration issued two unrelated recalls for Ford, Honda and Acura vehicles that together affect more than 500,000 units.
Last week, NHTSA announced batteries supplied by China’s Camel Battery and installed in 272,827 2021-’23 Ford Bronco Sport SUVs and 2022-’23 Ford Maverick pickups could have open circuits due to weld failures and must be replaced.
Days later, the agency issued a recall for 294,612 late-model Honda and Acura vehicles due to a software issue that could cause stalling or loss of engine power. Affected models include the 2022-’25 Acura MDX Type S, 2021-’25 Acura TLX Type S and 2023-’25 Honda Pilot.
This marks the second recall in as many months for the 2023-’25 Pilot. More than 200,000 were recalled in December due to the risk of fire resulting from fuel leakage.
