Survey: Fleet Managers Need Dealer Support to Improve Efficiency

A new EVAI survey of more than 2,500 fleet executives finds they are actively seeking stronger partnerships with auto dealers as they seek to improve efficiency and, in many cases, transition to EVs.
The survey found 41% of respondents have added EVs to their fleets and another 40% are exploring options. The majority (70%) of fleet managers say long-term operational savings are front of mind as they consider EV fleet costs. Barriers to EV adoption include high upfront costs, charging infrastructure concerns and uncertain resale value, each of which was cited by 20% of respondents.
Analysts say growing interest in EVs and the need to calculate total cost of ownership — a key consideration for every fleet manager determining when and how to replace aging units — creates a significant opportunity for dealers who position themselves as strategic partners to commercial clients.
“We understand the frustrations fleet managers face in accessing accurate and comprehensive TCO data,” writes EVAI’s founder and CEO, Ian Gardner, in a release. “By leveraging TCO metrics plus AI monitoring and analysis, combined with strong partnerships with auto dealers and service partners, fleet managers can significantly strengthen their fleet management and cost management strategies.”
